In this privacy statement we explain how we handle your personal data. It specifies which of your personal data we process and what your rights are.
About us
The CAK maintains the website of the National Contact Point for cross-border healthcare (NCP) for the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS). We are a public service provider that implements schemes for the Dutch government. For more information on the CAK, visit www.hetcak.nl.
Personal data we keep on file
The only personal data we keep on file is your name and email address so we can answer any questions you may have. We do not keep a record of any other personal data. Personal data is information that can be traced back to an individual.
When you use our contact form
If you use our contact form, we will reply to your question or suggestion as soon as possible. We will keep a record of your e-mail address in order to be able to reply to your message. We will not use your e-mail address for any other purpose, and will not disclose it to other parties or organisations.
What are my privacy rights?
As a client you have the following rights:

- The right to have your data deleted.
- The right to restrict the processing of your data.
1. The right to inspect your data
As a client you have the right to inspect which data we are storing about you. Under ‘Personal data we keep on file’ above you can read about which types of data we store and why.

3. The right to have your data deleted
As a client you have the right to have your data deleted, for example if you are mistakenly registered with the CAK.

4. The right to restrict the processing of your data
You may think the CAK should not be using certain items of your data, for example because:
- your personal details are incorrect.
- you think certain data no longer needs to be processed.
- you think the CAK does not have the right to process certain data.
- you have objected to the processing of your data and are awaiting a decision.
In such cases you can ask us to restrict the processing of your data.

Can the CAK apply a charge or refuse my request?
The CAK does not normally apply a charge if you make a request. We can, but will only do so in exceptional cases, for example if you make a large number of requests and we can demonstrate that the costs we are incurring are very high. In such a case we may ask you to pay a reasonable charge or may refuse your request.

Cookies
On this website the National Contact Point uses cookies only for collecting visitor data (website statistics). A cookie is a small file that is stored on your computer. An analysis of these data makes it possible to customize the website to suit its visitors. A cookie for website statistics registers the following data on you:
- the time and duration of your visit;
- which pages you visited;
- whether you had visited the website before;
- your internet provider; and
- a number of technical data, such as which website browser you use and the settings of your monitor.
The data are not used for any other purpose and are not passed on to third parties.
You cannot be identified
The cookies contain only a unique number, and no personal details. This means you cannot be identified personally. Nor can cookies be used to identify you on the websites of third parties.
